The Flip Side of Lean


I came across this very interesting post about a variation of the Lean Startup approach. The flip.

The purpose of the customer development steps taken in a Lean startup process is to establish a scalable business, but what if you have no intention of doing that? What if you plan to exit early? Ramine Darabiha outlines a model for this which I find rather interesting. The comments are worth a read as well. I like how there is almost a sense of “that’s not moral” between the lines. I guess the idea of aiming for the exit from day one with the intent to capitalize on a current fad leaves most people with an uneasy feeling that someone somewhere down the line will get screwed.
